SUMMARY:2021 AGO/Quimby Regional Competitions for Young Organists(RCYO)
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce the 2021 AGO Quimby/Regional Competition for Young Organists (RCYO)\, which the UVAGO chapter hosts jointly with the Salt Lake City AGO chapter.  The purpose of the RCYO is to encourage young organists to pursue excellence in organ performance and in service playing\, and all organists who were born after December 31\, 1998 are eligible to compete. \nCompetitors are required to play: \n\nA Bach work. Either 1) a prelude (a toccata or fantasia is acceptable) AND fugue or 2) two contrasting movements of a trio sonata by Bach. BWV 582 is acceptable; BWV 553–560 and 572 are not acceptable.\nAny one work\, composed after 1750. A movement of a larger work\, such as a symphony\, is acceptable.\nA hymn from a provided list.\nAny two movements of Sonata in Sea (https://www.agohq.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Cape-Cod.pdf). If timing permits\, all three movements may be performed.
