DESCRIPTION:Eccles Organ Festival Recital: Concert à la carte \nSunday 14 January 2024 at 8:00 PM\nCathedral of the Madeleine\, SLC \nVote online for your favorite organ works and hear them performed live by Tabernacle organists Richard Elliott and Andrew Unsworth and Cathedral Organist Gabriele Terrone \nVote Here! \n  \nThe Performers\nRichard Elliott\, a native of Baltimore\, Maryland\, received his early musical training at the Peabody Conservatory and the Catholic University of America. He earned his bachelor of music degree from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia\, where he also served as assistant organist for the John Wanamaker (now Macy’s) department store\, home to the world’s largest functioning pipe organ. He received master’s and doctorate degrees from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester\, New York. Prior to his appointment as Tabernacle Organist in 1991\, he spent three years on the music faculty of BYU. As a soloist and accompanist he has performed on five continents while maintaining a busy schedule on Temple Square. \nAndrew Unsworth was raised in Potsdam\, New York\, in a family of musicians. He received a bachelor of music degree from BYU and was awarded M.A. and Ph.D. degrees by Duke University. Before his appointment at the Salt Lake Tabernacle\, Unsworth worked as assistant director of music and organist at The Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City and as assistant professor of music history and organ at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches\, Texas. \nGabriele Terrone is the Organist and Assistant Director of Music at the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City\, Utah. He oversees the Eccles Organ Festival­ and assists with the training and conducting of the choristers of the Madeleine Choir School.\nGabriele has concertized throughout Europe and the US\, both as a solo performer and with the Cathedral Choir and has recorded for several Radio and TV stations and labels. Before coming to Utah\, he served as organist and choirmaster in several important churches in Rome\, notably the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore\, where he was titular organist until 2014.\n\n\n\n\n\nProgram \nThe program will feature the works that received the most votes from the audience and will be posted here before the recital.
