SUMMARY:2017 AGO/Quimby Regional Competition for Young Organists
DESCRIPTION:Tyler Boehmer\, winner of the 2015 AGO/Quimby Utah and Regional Organ Competition \nThe purpose of AGO/Quimby competitions is to encourage younger organists to pursue excellence\, to gain performance experience\, and to receive recognition for their achievements. These competitions begin at the Chapter level and conclude at the seven Regional Conventions. The winner of each Regional Competition will be invited to perform as a Rising Star at the 2018 National Convention in Kansas City\, Missouri. The AGO/Quimby Regional Competitions are made possible by a generous grant from Michael Quimby\, President\, Quimby Pipe Organs Inc. \nThe competition for the Utah Valley and Salt Lake chapters will be March 9\, 2017\, at the First United Methodist Church in Salt Lake City. The application deadline is January 15\, 2017.
