Salt Lake City AGO Super Saturday

Join us for a “Super-Super” Saturday Sept. 5-6. The event begins Friday Sept. 5 at 7:30 PM with a recital by Gabriel Dessauer (organist and cantor at St. Bonifatius, Weisbaden, Germany) in the Tabernacle. This event is free and open to the public as part of the Temple Square Concert Series.

The workshops will be held Saturday morning (Sept. 6) beginning at 8:30am in Libby Gardner Hall at the University of Utah. AGO members of any chapter attend for $5; non-ago members for $10; high school and college students attend FREE (with valid ID).

Dr. Jon Skidmore will give a keynote address “The Freedom to Play!  Dr. Skidmore is a performance coach, practicing psychologist, educator, researcher, and musician. He has taught the Psychology of Music Performance at BYU for more than 20 years.

Additionally, we will have great workshops for organists and enthusiasts of all levels. Our instructors, Dr. Don Cook, Teresa Clawson, Scott Mills, Alex Oldroyd, Dr. Jon Skidmore, Lynn Thomas, including: “hands-on” beginning manual and pedal technique, tonal design, conquering stage fright, hymn playing and registration, and AGO education. There will be an opportunity for interested organists to receive a 15-20 minute private lesson on music they’d like help with.

Note:  You may still attend the event without pre-registering by coming early enough to pay and pick up materials on the day of the event. However, your desired class selections are not guaranteed if you do not pre-register.
