Eccles Organ Festival

The first recital of the new year 2026, on January 11th, will feature Richard Fitzgerald, Director of Music of Saint Joseph Cathedral, Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Fitzgerald previously served the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, as the Assistant Director of Music and later as the Associate Director of Music. Fitzgerald’s work as an improviser has been recognized both in the U.S. and abroad and in several International competitions, including the 53rd Haarlem International Organ Improvisation Competition in the Netherlands. Richard’s concert program will feature works by Louis-Nicolas Clérambault, Johann Sebastian Bach and some of his own compositions.
