Dr. Craig Jessop, dean of the Caine College of Fine Arts at Utah State University and former music director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, will give a special clinic on choral conducting at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Salt Lake City. Following the clinic, everyone can observe Dr. Jessop’s rehearsal of Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms” with the Utah ACDA Collegiate Choir from 1:00 to 5:30 in the Dumke Recital Hall at the University of Utah. At 5:30 the group moves to rehearse with the organ in Libby Gardner Hall. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are required for the concert.

Those attending the morning workshop will have the opportunity to learn from Dr. Jessop as he directs the group through four works:

  • Redeemer of Israel (Mack Wilberg)
  • Joy in the Morning (Natalie Sleeth)
  • He Shall Feed His Flock (John Ness Beck)
  • Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring (ed. Ron Staheli)
Day Murray Music will have packets of the music available for sale for $7.25, which includes a 15% discount off the published prices.
