The general public is invited to a free lecture by Dr. Brian Mathias: THE HISTORY OF THE ORGAN CHORALE. Lella Pomeroy will tell about her adventures behind the Iron Curtain before the Berlin Wall came down and what she learned from the experience. She and her mentor, Jim Welch, were part of a group of 40 organ enthusiasts who walked in the footsteps of Bach during his 300th birthday year for two-and-a-half weeks in the summer of 1985 in what was then East Germany. The chapter will provide pulled pork sandwiches, so please bring a potluck side dish, salad, or dessert.
