OUR PRESENTERS:

We are excited to learn from Seth Bott, Jay Goodliffe, DeeAnn Stone, and Bradley Dickson.

Seth Bott, our keynote speaker, received his DMA in organ performance from the University of Kansas last May, and many will remember his contributions to Super Saturdays while an organ student at BYU. Seth currently serves as Director of Music and Organist at St. James Episcopal Church in Midvale, Utah, works in the school of music at the University of Utah, and teaches private students. His presentation is entitled, “Bearing Testimony through Hymn Playing.”  Seth Bott’s photo and extended bio

Jay Goodliffe has a Colleague certificate from the American Guild of Organists and is a member of the UVAGO chapter. He studied organ with Bonnie Goodliffe and Don Cook. He is a professor in the Department of Political Science at Brigham Young University, and he earned degrees from MIT and the University of Rochester. His Super Saturday presentation is entitled, “Five Tips for Effective Organ Practice.”

DeeAnn Stone, the chapter’s website editor and long-time member of the chapter, will share tips on how to use her popular website, “Resources for LDS Organists.”

Bradley Dickson, a BYU organ student, will share online resources for organists.  Bradley Dickson is a former student of BYU’s organ program. He and his wife, Adria, have two kids that keep them very busy! Bradley is currently the store manager at Fixit Mobile in Orem, and continues to study organ and music theory in his free time. He plays every Sunday for his local congregation and loves using his talents and skills to provide meaningful spiritual experiences for church-goers. Bradley is planning on obtaining a master’s and doctorate in Organ Performance and becoming a professor at a university or conservatory.

After the presentations, we will have the opportunity to ask the presenters questions and socialize in breakout rooms on Zoom.
